Hey family,
Surprise, it is Saturday. Ha-ha. Well we moved preparation day this week. One of the assistants is finishing his mission the secretary is getting transferred and 3 people had birthdays this month, so Sister Clark, the mission president wife, wanted to have a big party. The offices have their prep day on Saturday because they do a lot of stuff with the church office building which is closed Saturday so they invited the whole zone to come and have a BBQ at the mission home.
Anyway, this week has been really slow. We have only found one knew investigator this week. He is pretty incredible however. The lesson lasted for 20 minutes; he accepted his baptismal date with quickly and asked questions. He was willing to come to church without hesitation and the best part about it was his prayer at the end of the lesson. First off he prayed. That e\never happens that people never want to pray the first lesson. Second he prayed to receive an answer about the book of Mormon about his baptismal date and up Joseph smith. He took notes during the lesson the scriptures we used and everything. It was incredible. We have an appointment with him today so I will give you an update on him next time I write. Transfers are coming up and I expect that I will be transferred out of Torreon. I really don’t want to go but we will see what happens.
We helped a member with her roof this week too. Wow that was the hardest thing I have ever done. They had the flat roof covered with only boards kind of like a deck. Then we hauled buckets of cement up a ladder and dumped it on the roof. I would have never guessed that that is how it is done. Ha-ha. My shoulder back and arms still hurt from hauling 50 60 pound buckets up a ladder. However it was really really fun, a lot easier then missionary work, Ha-ha, Less stressful.
Other than that nothing really exciting happened. I got sun burned. I am getting sick and it is really really really hot, and it is only march we will have to see what June and July are like.
Well I love you all lots. I am sorry that this is short I just don’t have a lot to write about. Yolanda and Eric are progressing hopefully Yolanda is willing to give up selling menudo on Sunday so that she doesn’t miss church. We will see. I don’t know if I told you but we were finally able to get in contact with one of our investigators, Gloria. She is progressing and reading everything we leave her. We should be having a baptism in on the 27 I will send you pictures.
I love you all
Take care
Elder Paskett
